Clarity, Not Cover-Up

Most academic drafts are not weak because the ideas are bad. They are weak because the ideas are buried under long sentences, repeated transitions, and vague claims. A careful rewrite fixes the delivery, not the substance. The thesis you defend, the order of your reasons, the evidence you cite, and the sources you list should read the same before and after. What improves is how easily a reader can follow your thinking from the introduction to the conclusion. If a rewrite changes what you are actually claiming, it has gone too far and you should roll it back. Think of the model as a strict copy editor who is allowed to tidy sentences but is never allowed to invent a new argument, a stronger statistic, or a source you never read. When you keep that boundary clear, rewriting stays honest and genuinely useful.

Academic Integrity
Be honest about how the work was made.
Using a tool to polish sentences is not the same as passing off machine-written work as your own thinking. The line every student should respect is misrepresentation: do not present AI-generated argument, analysis, or research as if you produced it unaided when your instructor expects otherwise. Rules differ by school, program, and even by individual professor, so the first step is to read your course policy and, when in doubt, ask. Some instructors allow AI for grammar and structure but not for drafting ideas; others ban it entirely; others simply ask you to disclose what you used. Follow whichever policy applies to you, and keep your own notes and drafts so you can show your process if asked. Rewriting cannot and should not be used to hide authorship or to defeat plagiarism and AI-detection systems.
